It was a busy day for the Calvary Christian Eagles. Along with the Marvel Allen transfer, both Allen and his future teammate, Carl Cherenfant received an offer from Louisiana State University (LSU).
“It feels good to be recognized because I have been putting a lot of work in,” Cherfenant told 305Sports on his development this summer. “I think it’s time for a lot of coaches to start taking notice. I feel like I will be the best player in 2023.”
In their first years of high school basketball competition, Chefenant posted 6.8 points, 1.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds a night while competing on the 21-8 Eagles. As for his new teammate, Allen lead the Wellington Wolverines to another 20 win season, adding 18.2 points, 4.3 assists and 7.9 rebounds per contest.
“This year I’m looking forward to a big year,” the rising sophomore continues. “We are having a big schedule [and] I’m really looking forward to putting a stamp on the 2023 class and win with my team.”
For Marvel Allen, besides LSU, schools such as Virginia Tech, UCF, and Temple, have been showing interest in the 2023 guard among others.
As for Chefenant, he currently possesses an offer from Western Kentucky and has stayed in contact with Miami, Florida and Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
