Offers continue to roll in for Matt and Ryan Bewley, the No. 9 and No. 14 rising sophomores in the country. And after a strong showing at the ‘On The Radar Hoops Season Finale’, the University of Illinois came calling the duo.
“It’s [the recruitment process] going well,” Ryan told 305Sports.
As a freshman, Ryan received All-Broward County honorable mention honors after averaging ten points, eight rebounds and two blocks per contest. His ability to play creatively on offense while also facilitating the ball helped lead the Northeast Hurricanes (Fort Lauderdale, Fl) to a 21-7 record along with the assistance of his brother Matthew and other top recruits.
In addition to an impressive outing at the ‘Season Finale,’ the 6-foot-8, 185-pounder averaged 7.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 steals in four games for Team Breakdown, who went 3-1 at the ‘Power 24.’
Heading into his sophomore campagin, Ryan’s goals for the 2020-2021 season are “to win states and just win.”
The University of Illinois will be added to an already impressive list of offers, with schools such as Florida, Florida State, Auburn, St. Johns, Alabama and USF, among others, looking to land the 2023 stars.
As for his relationship with his hometown school, Bewley took an unofficial visit to the University of Miami campus in January but is yet to receive an offer.
