Gyms and Fitness Clubs around the country have been closed for weeks. Most of the United States are following Stay at Home Orders and Practicing Social Distancing. The “new normal’ has left many to abandon their workout routines or seeking at home alternatives.
In a recent ESPN article, Peloton received attention as the go to option for many NFL, NBA, and PGA athletes. During these times when the world feels upside down, Peloton is like the band on the Titanic that kept playing.
What is Peloton
“Peloton is an exercise equipment company based in New York, New York. Its main product is a stationary bicycle. All content is streamed from the company’s fitness studio and are paid for through a monthly subscription service.
Peloton has an extensive on-demand library containing all of its content for members to access. Peloton prides itself in community and has a full slate of world class instructors.”
Peloton strives to keep a sense of community and normalcy by continuing to provide live classes. The fitness company modified their schedules closed the set to live audiences and reduced staffing in accordance with the CDC guidelines.
I am a fan of Peloton and I am no stranger to the leaderboard. You can catch me working out with Ally Love, Kendall Toole, Robin Arzon, Alex Toussaint or any of the many other amazing instructors at Peloton.
I recently took a ride with the Miami Dolphins Safety Adrian Colbert.
Peloton is amazing but just like the band on the Titanic, they are not invincible.
The company recently released a statement on social media that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. Peloton reacted quickly and enacted their safety protocols.

This has left many in the Peloton Fitness Community to debate on if the company is taking unnecessary risks. The debate is interesting because companies are usually accused for not putting the customer first.
While the world is on pause, Peloton has taken every action to put their community first. I applaud them for this!
I hope for the health and safety of all at OnePeloton.com and the world!
