The deadline for all NFL teams to be at the 53 player limit was September 5, 2020. As teams finalize their rosters, there’s always some surprise cuts. This year, the Miami Dolphins made headlines when they cut quarterback Josh Rosen.

Dolphins Talk’s Ryan VanHoover believed that releasing Josh Rosen was a mistake. 305Sports’ Jamie Bahamas had a different opinion.

Yes, it was a mistake, though the Dolphins will never admit it. They should have kept Rosen on the time for two more years.

If it was a mistake, he would be starting or 2nd string for another team right now. He is a practice squad player when the teams are allowed a bunch of extra players. I think he has gotten screwed in the NFL, and I wish him well, but at this point I don’t see him as a starter in this league. Hopefully he learns and grows under Ariens and Tom’s tutelage, but if the coach and Greer felt it was best for everyone, I’ll defer to their intimate knowledge of the situation.
